You Spin Me Right Round

So anyone that gets to know Kaylith knows she has a -thing- for Harley Quinn, probably has something to do with the clown like aspects but hey I won't judge. And well it has rubbed off on me to the point I'm actually reading the comics and have become rather obsessed with the red and black trouble maker myself. All this leads to silly ideas that start to come together when a knife throwers assistant outfit comes out the same time a Joker themed knife wheel. Now some more side not back story as to WHY my manic giggle escape my throat as the photo was forming in my minds eye. If you haven't seen The Devils Carnival you should get on it because it really is masterfully done and the way they bring Aesop's Fables to life are marvelous! But back to my point the story like of the scorpion and the frog is probably my favorite of the stories that they bring to like and it might have to do with the role Emilie Autumn plays, but if you have seen the movie you see how it ties to this post without me giving out any spoilers. Then the fact that the Joker themed wheel fell into my hands and well just about everyone that knows who Harley and Joker are knows their relationship woes so the plot thickened and I dragged my favorite partner in crime into my plots. Anyway enough of my rambling time to reveal the work of art that Kaylith photographed and edited.

So I saw the tails and ears that Cubic Cherry has released for The Gacha Garden and I was instantly in love. Bloom

Weeds bloom too.

Did I ever mention I love green? Because I do. If it wouldn't annoy everyone enjoying my stream, I would do a lot more. This dress from Zibska caught my eye and lead to a style that came together quite quickly. The boots and hair came quickly, which by the way I love the hell out of this bob and the ability to have it two tone! Makeup came next with a gorgeous new lipstick from Zibska and one of her eyeshadows, both currently at The 100 Block. She offers a fatpack option to get all of the makeup she has out in one swoop, with a nice saving. Now the eyebrows are not actually two toned, I photoshopped one to convey a point in my work, but those are tattoo eyebrows from TSG that come in handy. I'm unsure if they're still available! Then of course, because I am a freak, I had to have my demon paint, a black choker, and green goat eyes. To finish it off, I had to have a pose as equally odd.

Azure Amalgamation

We are all connected.

I've had this jewelry set for some time and have been meaning to blog it, but I just didn't get around to it. now that I've taken a step back from many of my sponsors, I can focus solidly on that which inspires me. This lovely set from Finesmith did just that! Galactic comes with a headpiece (not shown), a tiara, a necklace, earrings, and a ring. I decided to keep the style simple... super simple, by doing an artistic nude. I used this gorgeous long style from Little Bones in her Gossamer pack, which are gorgeous pastels with dark roots. They matched perfectly! As for makeup, I went with soft, shimmery makeup from Zibska, eyeliner from cStar, and nails from A:S:S. Noteably the eyeshadow from Zibska is included in the makeup fatpack she has out for The 100 Block. You can get all of the makeup she has out in one fatpack, for a deal! To give emotion to the style, I used some tintable tattoo eyebrows. I couldn't find any poses weird enough for the concept in my head, so I made my own.

Wander

I've noticed in my photos I almost always have black or blonde hair, the rare exception being red or some sort of vibrant color, but I never really play with brown hair. So with different shades of brown in mind, I decided to style something different. What I ended up with is something with a touch of boho, a touch of higher fashion, and touch alternative with hint of black.

Untouched

I never thought I'd say I'm sad it's Saturday. But I am, for it is the last day of the PENUMBRA Autumn/Winter Fashion Week 2015. There has been a plethora of amazing shows and fun festivities thus far, so it's time to go out with a bang! Why not drop by and join the fun? That and if you haven't dropped by to go shopping yet, you're about to seriously miss out.
I must say I'm loving blackLiquid's exclusive, which is a unisex outfit. It's a beautiful mix of soft and elegant, and definitely high fashion. It includes a rigged mesh bodysuit, tanktop, and pants that all come in standard sizing, as well as an unrigged hat, necklace, earrings, back piece, chest piece, shades, and cuffs. The bodysuit is very sleek, form fitting, with a nicely done loose fabric effect at the wrists and ankles. The unrigged pieces are very detailed, but no modify. However, they include a resize script that I found easy to use in fitting the pieces to my avatar. Overall I felt the outfit to be rather ethereal, so I styled my own take on it. I chose a soft pink eyeshadow from Zibska, my favorite eyeliner, face makings from Nunna that I tinted to match the eyeshadow, a shiny gloss from Blacklace, and glossy nails from A:S:S. I was happy with my style, though I decided not to use my normal blue eyes, but rather these pink ones to give a bit of a supernatural effect. PosESioN happened to have a pose with the perfect attitude and just what I was looking for!

Valkyr De Noir

It's getting closer and closer to the 17th and I absolutely cannot wait for PENUMBRA Autumn/Winter Fashion Week 2015! I was given the great honor to be one of the official bloggers and boy can I say I am blown away with the amazing creations I get to feature in my work. I mean, just look at this avant garde outfit from Du Jour and tell me it's not fierce and sexy! (This outfit will be featured in the PENUMBRA finale show.) This was so up my alley of style that my heart skipped a beat when I laid eyes on it. Du Jour's Valkyra Dress includes a rigged mesh harness top, rigged panties, rigged bracers, and rigged skirt all in standard sizing, as well as an unrigged headpiece and chest accessory. The unrigged pieces are no modify, but I personally found them rather easy to fit and position. I decided to style this outfit with a long, beautiful hair from Fiore as to channel a little characteristic of the ancient Nordic Valkyries. For accessories I went with tall, black leather boots, long black gloves, and this beautiful mesh facial piece from The Forge. As for makeup, I went with an eyeliner from Nuuna that has always reminded me of avians in its shape, as well as an eye stripe to incorporate shape of the top into the upper portion of the avatar. The finishing touch was some stylized, matte black nail polish and I was ready to shoot. Once again, I made my own pose because I could not find one that was similar enough to what I envisioned.

Ochre Aria

It's October, yay, my favorite month of the year! Sadly this means that the 29th of this month, the beautiful limited recolors of AZUL's gowns will be going away. So if you want to get a gorgeous gown like the one I am wearing for a steal of a price, you need to head over to AZUL! AZUL's Gina gown comes with a rigged mesh dress and gloves in standard sizing, a side adornment, a headpiece, and flexi-skirts. I really cannot get over how beautifully everything is textured, it always blows me away looking at all of the smallest details. I decided to style this gown with a softer look, but still maintaining my darkness. I rarely ever seen anyone style browns with blonde hair, which I think is a missed opportunity, since the color palettes go so beautifully together. I present a soft, blonde gothic look! For the shoot, I actually stayed at home and just rearranged my personal quarters a bit, since it had this big open window that allowed for light to spill in so perfectly.

Illusory Allure

It is about time that I play with white and gold again. What better way than with an elegant jewelry set that so perfectly accentuates the feminine form? Charm has created this beautifully detailed set called Skye, which is currently available as a gacha for The Gathering. There is a headpiece, harness (with 5 standard sizes and unrigged version included), belt, earrings, and armlets in three metals (copper, gold, silver) to be won. All of the pieces are modify, so you can be sure to get the perfect fit. I decided to pair the jewelry with an equally as beautiful posture collar from Aisling that is currently out for this month's round of ROMP. It is rigged mesh, including six colors for the collar and four colors for the metal, controlled via HUD. There is also an Open Collar version included! For the sake of keeping naughty bits hidden, I went with the simple but lovely mesh panties that are included with the Maitreya Lara body, then built a quick pair of prim pasties to give the illusion of what lies beneath, while incorporating the colors of the look. I'll probably throw those up on MP as a freebie or if not, just contact me and I'll toss them to you. Finally, I finished off the look with this beautiful scarf from Aii, Zibska's whisper lips and Leia, a soft smokey eyeshadow. I didn't make my own pose for this one, since PosESioN had the perfect pose to complete what I envisioned.

By The Horns

"I took the bull by the horns and now I'm wearing them."

Yes in fact that is a shrug jacket made entirely out of bull skulls. Renee is yet another amazing outfit from Zibska, including a rigged mesh top and shorts in standard sizing and sculpted shrug jacket. The top, top's studs, shorts, buckles, and shrug include ten colors changeable via HUD. Since the shrug is modify, I decided to take one of the skulls and use it as a headpiece since it went perfectly with this long ponytail from Moon. For makeup I went with my usual liner from cStar, this powerful eyeshadow from Dead Apples, as well as sexy dark lipstick and blush from Zibska.

So for this month I was kinda a bad girl and took more of a break then I intended to but sometimes you just have to take a step back and regroup before your head explodes. Saudade

Saudade: The feeling of longing for someone that you love and is lost.

I can honestly say that this post was one that pushed me out of my comfort zone. I was spending time styling with my dear friend Madeleine, when I asked her to help me choose a gown to blog. She said, "Kay, this one would look incredible on you!" as she pointed to Azul's limited edition recolor of their Esmerelda mesh gown in peridot. Esmerelda comes with a mesh gown in 5 standard sizes, a system layer top, collar, sleeves, and flex-skirts. Green is definitely my favorite color, so I was excited, but instead of going with my usual dark touch... Maddy pushed me to style soft and feminine. I avoided my typical dark makeup, went with lighter colors, and utilized this shawl from Zibska. With a little tinting, I was able to get the PERFECT match that brought out the different tones in the gown. With some dark lace gloves I was able to pull out a little more of the darker tones, but not too much, while my ring (and it is special to me) pulled out the greens and highlights, even though it was very small. As for posing, I had to create my own pose, since I found some that were close, but not quite cutting it. I went with something very longing, as the mood I was in while crafting this post was missing someone special to me.

Vipera Danse

Sometimes when I wandering events I see something from a designer, that I don't shop with as much as I really should, that instantly inspires me! Though I think it's been out for longer, Emo-tions had this sexy number out at The 24. Genesis includes both a silver and a violet version, which I thought was absolutely beautiful. All of the pieces except the head piece are unrigged, modifiable mesh. It included a top, skirt, necklace, a pair of armbands, a pair of forearm bracelets, and two headpieces (one for the Genesis hair, and one for a hairbase). Personally, I opted to use the Genesis hair also from Emo-tions, because I really loved how the hair shape was. For makeup I initially was toying with a purple eyeshadow, red lips, and my regular blue eyes, but something in me told me to do something different. So I switched to dark eyeshadow, purple metallic lips, and eyes with just the right amount of blood red. I loved it! I tried my hardest to find some belly dance style poses, and I came close, but I really couldn't find the pose to match what I was envisioning that did not prim break! I finally gave in and made my own, resulting in a piece I'm completely happy with.

Coma Black

"We were too dumb to run, too dead to die."

Every time I turn around, Zibska make something new that I completely love. This time, Zib created these monotone Aphra eyes (24 patterns via HUD) that instantly made me say, "I think it's about time I do another Marilyn Manson style post." So while listening to his older music, a flurry of flying clothes, and some time later I emerged with a look that draws inspirations from his 90's era. Black leather, fishnet, long gloves (my favorite long leather gloves), and a drawn silver grill were my choices and I think they went together quite well. The mesh corset top form Zibska, Belinde, comes with 20 colors and the booted leggings also from Zibska come with 30 colors, both controllable via HUD.  For the makeup, I used one of Zibska's newest lipsticks plus some of her older eyeshadow, and my favorite black eyeliner from cStar. As for posing, there is literally no good Mason-esque poses for females, so I made my own. An expression HUD and a little photo manipulation later, I had the perfect unsettling grin that pays patronage to the shock rocker himself.

Lies Can Be Beautiful

Would you rather a beautiful, comforting lie over the harsh, ugly truth?

Zibska released this mesh floral jewelry set by the name Scaramouche that made my heart jump with joy. This particular style is one that is near and dear to my heart, so I was excited to play with it. Most everyone I noticed was going with the dark colors, which they have all done stunning work, but I felt as though the lighter palette in the color change HUD (Which has 20 colors, 10 light and 10 dark) was being ignored. So I decided to focus up more on it and incorporate a bit of my darker style into it still. What I ended up with was a symbolic styling, representing that lies can be beautiful (the flowers and lipgloss), but everything you say leaves a mark (the smeared makeup), your true intention can be seen in your eyes, and lies creep and spread (the lashes).

Her Ghost In The Fog

Within Model's Workshop, there was quite the fun challenge presented. Of which, it was to style this beautiful creation of Mila Tatham's SoliDea FoliEs. Whilst laying my eyes upon it, I was listening to a song at the time that inspired me to take my style a bit different of a direction as I always do. Now I didn't go completely with the song as it describes the phantom being, but rather drew my own inspirations from it. To put a different spin on it than what most were doing, I went with editorial hair, a simple neck ribbon to accent the dress, and floral jewelry that included petals flying out to the wind. With eyes as black as ravens, I stepped out upon the waters where the mist began to gather, becoming her ghost in the fog.

Great Big White World

I don't know why it is, but for some reason I keep finding myself letting out my vampire side into my blogging. Before you ask, Tzimisce. But, this outfit is another example of the different looks you can craft with Zibska's creations. The blazer, skirt, and necklace is a previously released outfit set called Angele. Angele includes a rigged mesh skirt and blazer in five standard sizes, an alpha, and her Estee necklace and earrings in silver. I chose Zibska's Lena 06 lingerie set (which comes with Belleza and Maitreya appliers) to go underneath, because I loved the print and shape of the bra. For boots, bing you guessed it, Zibska again! I'm completely in love with her Svea thigh highs, but that could be my love for thigh high boots speaking for me. Moon's Boa hair was the perfect loose updo for a bit of that sexy factor, plus their white with dark roots was perfection. For a bit more of an edge, I added in White Widow's insidious tattoo, which features a striking owl that sat perfectly framed in the blazer and necklace. For makeup (you guessed it) I went with different sets from Zibska and my favorite liner from cStar Limited, then finished it off with nail polish from Finesmith.
