The Nexus

"I rise, so you can be a part of me. I hide as part of the machinery"

It's been a while since JOLI has been open, but the wonderful and talented creator behind JOLI has decided to once again open her shop up and I'm completely excited! I was honored with a spot in her blogger list and I couldn't be more thankful, I adore her work. With the reopening she is has also put out a new group gift for the ladies- Raquel, a lovely bare face skin in a grey tone. Personally, the moment I saw it I wanted to go drow, but then I accidentally put on a different makeup than intended... and it just felt right. As I changed my contacts (eyes), I thought, dang this would be perfect for an android. So with my favorite catsuit from Moyet, a beautiful corset set from Rosal that I got for my birthday, and a hair from A&Y that I've been eyeing for a while, it all fell into place.
When it came to looking for a location, I realized that the sim I've been helping work on would be absolutely perfect. ShadowRun ReAwakened is a new photogenic roleplay sim that's in the works. As the name portrays, it is inspired by the ShadowRun games (which if you haven't played them, you're missing out). For those that don't know, the theme of the sim is scifi and it takes place in 2060. It's not open to the public yet, but when it is you're going to see a sim unlike any other! It uses zero prefabs, only original and professionally made mesh, created by our talented building team. I can't say much right now, but if you like interactive, immersive roleplaying sims, you're going to love SRR! If you want updates, you can join the OOC group. Not to mention, once the sim is open, they are blogger and photographer friendly-- Just make sure to wear an OOC tag and don't interrupt the roleplayers!

Same Clown, Different World

Intergalactic clown antics.

Lola is a mischievous clown both in the first and second life. Recently she's taken liking to scifi and futuristic themes. I found this outfit from E-Clipse at the Black Fashion Fair and fell in love with it, but I wasn't entirely happy with the first couple stylings I did with it, that is until Lola decided to come out to play. I accentuated the outfit with a harness from Kyoot, a corset from Dark Prophet Designs, and my favorite thong from Dark Diva (previously Sugar Pill). Yet something was still missing... Then it hit me-- my favorite hand tattoo from Zibska. It pulled the red from Lola's makeup into the rest of the outfit without it being overbearing, plus it's to die for. So with an outfit I was happy with, I set out to a favorite Scifi sim for a shoot.

Cyber Samurai

You can always find some of the most interesting characters over at the Blue Falcon Industry's Bar. Sit down and have a drink, there's always cold beer on tap. Beer not your style? There's always whiskey and other spirits, but careful not to over-do it like Niri did. She's gonna be hungover tomorrow!
So, the helmet I'm wearing in this is pretty snazzy. It's really different as far as scifi gear goes, and it's very much inspired by the traditional samurais, but the creator put their own twist to it (hence its name). It's 100% original rigged mesh, modify as to tint the eye slits like I have in the picture, and comes with a BUTT TON of color options. Don't worry, the creator at BFI made sure to made version for male, female, and fit for using tops with collars. So why don't you drop by, have a drink, then pick yourself up a new helmet?

Inward Moment

Sitting down and relaxing for a moment, the memories came flooding back. In her mind, it was like a buzzing hive, people all talking at once as though she were in a crowd. To her, it was loud in the room, but to anyone else, only the humming of the hovering lift from Blue Falcon Industries. She smiled at the memories, but she couldn't help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over her.

Anyways, this post was fun. Why? Because remmeber the Mechabone jaw I blogged a while ago? Well, here it is again-- BUT Unsung has create a crown to go with it. The two actually fit snugly together as intended, and it looks really amazing with a bangless hair. Of course Unsung created a fantastic hair to go with and plans to make more! The hair is actually unisex, but I thought it looked better on guys than gals. This firey red hair from Alice Project really stole ym attention though, and I think it really complimented the Mechabone gear.
Just like the mechabone jaw though, it has 8 tintable faces for customization. It also feature specular mapping as you can see in  he pictures, and comes in the same colors as the Mechabone jaw. For those who don't know, it comes in white, grey and black. The crown (as well as the included hair) is 100% original, unrigged mesh. The included hair comes in black and white (for tinting!), with a black and tintable hair base.

Search and Destroy

Feeling on a brighter note, I had a strange attraction to white and greys with just a hint of my favorite color in the entire world-- Chartreuse. I didn't think this would lead me to styling in my regular genres, especially more cyber/scifi. As you can see though, that's exactly where it ended up!
This is very much a more simple styling, but I am hoping you are eyeballing the MechaBone Jaw piece by Unsung. It's a 100% unrigged mesh single object, with 8 customizable faces (for those unsure how to utilize faces for tinting and customization, there is a notecard included to help you out). For those who are using the newest material viewers like me, the mapping on this jaw is phenomenal! The detail the materials add is absolutely gorgeous as you can see in the picture above, but even if you aren't using the advanced lighting module, this jaw looks damn good. So why not grab one for yourself? It comes in Black, White (shown) and Grey.

Do you like guns?

Well, do you like guns? SonnenKorp has created and released an all new original mesh Laser Pistol. The Last Pistol, usable in LL damage combat sims, fire a deadly and incredibly accurate raycast beam that is not capable of penetrating through walls. Though if you do not like raycast, it has a toggle-able mode in which you can use prim rounds. This pistol has seven (7) different skins, each having a worn version. It also include a low lag holstered version for when you do not feel like wielding this weapon. All commands operate on either channel 0 or 1, and they have even included a handy reload gesture for you!

- Now to explain a bit:
As far as commands go, let's say you're wearing the holster and main pistol with the holster being active, but you want to draw your weapon. You'd simply say /0 draw or /1 draw and badabing, you're ready to fire. Now to holster it again, all you have to do is say /0 sling or /1 sling and it's placed right back in it's holster. If you want to change ammo between standard or raycast rounds, all you have to do is say /0 ammo or /1 ammo and you can easily toggle between them. Now for my favorite part, skins, yay! As said before there are seven different skins for the pistol: Default, Faceless, Red, Cadian, Shock, Brown, and Black. Each skin also has it's own worn version, in case you don't like the brand-shiny-new kinda look. To toggle between skins, just say /0 skin.NAMEHERE or /1 skin.NAMEHERE but replace 'NAMEHERE' with your desired skin. Now it's said to use the worn skins, you have to CALCULATE THE MASS OF THE SUN (mass of the sun = 1.9891 × 10^30 kilograms, by the way), but really you just have to add a 'w' to the end of the name. so if you wanted the red skin's worn version, it would be /0 skin.redw or /1 skin.redw which is epic simple. So in a nutshell, the Laser Pistol by SonnenKorp is simple and easy to use, as well as modify so you can scale it to fit your avatar. Not to mention this gun is efficiently scripted and well worth the price!

Moving on though, I bet you think that cybernetic eye-piece in the picture is pretty cool, right? Well it is and it's totally for sale by the same Mr. Sonnenkern. The Optical Augmentations are a high quality (and original) mesh attachments with high quality texturing. It includes two different textures (clean & dirty), as well as a couple preset colors for the lenses. Seeing as the Optical Augmentation are completely modifiable  unrigged mesh, you can use the 'Select Faces' tool in your build menu to tint the lenses yourself to your desired color. The creator does warn that this was made specifically for his avatar shape, but don't worry-- I found it pretty easy to fit to my own shape. However if it still doesn't quite look right, most hair can cover that side of the face so you can make it work either way. I honestly enjoy this mesh attachment and I seriously recommend it to anyone who's into the cyber look or scifi roleplay. Again, this is seriously worth the price.

So enough of my rambling. Why don't you check out [SonnenKorp] for yourself?
You can visit the store either In-World or on The Marketplace.
