Whispers In The Dark

Fate has an interesting way of making things happen. In a turn of events, there was a designer at Penumbra Autumn/Winter Fashion Week 2015 that wasn't featured in blogging as much as they really should have been. I popped in to look at her items and was amazed, because they are a Gothic dream! La Nuit A Paris includes a rigged mesh dress in standard sizing, a rigged mesh jacket, rigged mesh leg warmers (all are Maitreya/slink compatible) and rigged mesh shoes for slink feet. Miss Anderian Sugarplum and I both instantly bought it in our favored colors, then thought, what if we blog it together? Needless to say I was excited, so we headed over to the photo platform to style. With a little hunting we each found perfect Gothic accessories that beautifully complimented this dress. Anderian styled this dress with a soft, wavy hairstyle that reminded me of the beautiful Dita Von Teese, dark lipstick, a detailed dark ring, blue tipped stiletto nails, pierced ears, and a necklace that is incredibly detailed, dark, and delicate. I love love love her style!! I went a bit more frilly with mine, using lacy wrist cuffs, leather pauldrons, my favorite Gothic cross collar, a lacy garter tattoo, dark cross stiletto nails, and sleek, raven black hair. For the shoot we headed over to one of the absolute best Gothic sims in SL, found the perfect spot, and let the shutters of our cameras do the rest of the talking!

Disassociative

This leather cloak top was another one of those things I proclaimed "I need this in my life!" as soon as my eyes laid upon it. Wayne released this beautiful, rigged mesh dress that comes in standard sizing, and features these built in mesh arms for the chic hands-in-pockets look. Isn't it to DIE for? I decided to pair it with Zibska's Axelle leggings, which to me are pretty dang sexy and comes with 30 colors controllable via HUD. Initially I was playing with a dark cobalt, but my friend Drexia inspired me to play with this pinkish hue. Because Zib is friggin' awesome (and we all know it), her Adelie Lips color palette matches her Axelle legging's palette spot on! So with some smokey eyeshadow (also from Zibska) and one of my favorite eye stripes from Nuuna, I had the look I wanted. I don't know why I'm so obsessed with eye stripes lately, but it definitely makes this look teeter the brink of Gothic and Urban Chic.

You Never Said Forever

...Could ever hurt like this.

This one I can say is particularly dark, but holds a great personal meaning behind every detail in this photo. However, this meaning I will not be telling you, because I would rather leave this one open for interpretation by the viewer. This styling is quite simple, since it was for an artistic piece rather than a full outfit. I must say I am really loving the thorns adornments from Zibska at this month's round of The Laiason Collaborative! Visitante comes with a crown and a collar, with 8 colors changeable via HUD. There is actually a matching makeup and eye set that is wonderfully creepy and perfect for anyone who has a darker taste or wants to bring out the darkness for Samhain (or Halloween, if you prefer). I however went with reddish makeup that is also from Zibska, as well as some bloody tears. As for eyes, Zib's Aphra eyes were just the right amount of unsettling that I was looking for. As for set, posing, and my bindings, I had to custom create them and do a considerable amount of photoshop work for this sneer.

Illusory Allure

It is about time that I play with white and gold again. What better way than with an elegant jewelry set that so perfectly accentuates the feminine form? Charm has created this beautifully detailed set called Skye, which is currently available as a gacha for The Gathering. There is a headpiece, harness (with 5 standard sizes and unrigged version included), belt, earrings, and armlets in three metals (copper, gold, silver) to be won. All of the pieces are modify, so you can be sure to get the perfect fit. I decided to pair the jewelry with an equally as beautiful posture collar from Aisling that is currently out for this month's round of ROMP. It is rigged mesh, including six colors for the collar and four colors for the metal, controlled via HUD. There is also an Open Collar version included! For the sake of keeping naughty bits hidden, I went with the simple but lovely mesh panties that are included with the Maitreya Lara body, then built a quick pair of prim pasties to give the illusion of what lies beneath, while incorporating the colors of the look. I'll probably throw those up on MP as a freebie or if not, just contact me and I'll toss them to you. Finally, I finished off the look with this beautiful scarf from Aii, Zibska's whisper lips and Leia, a soft smokey eyeshadow. I didn't make my own pose for this one, since PosESioN had the perfect pose to complete what I envisioned.

Wayward

I'm not entirely sure why it is, but lately I am drawn to different hues of blue. With AZUL having so many beautiful limited creations (for a steal of a deal) out for their store renewal, I've been drawn to whatever speaks out to me, and Qulsome in sapphire did just that. Qulsome is a rigged mesh dress with 5 standard sizes, a rigged mesh hood with 3 sizes, a belt, and flexi skirt pieces. Finding hair to go underneath this hood that both fit and I liked was a hard one, but having expertise in modification, I decided to use a couple of different pieces to create my own hairstyle. Beyond that, I kept my styling simple. I went with dark eyeshadow and dark blue lips from Zibska, sapphire nails, and this absolutely beautiful ring from Charm. Nia was pushed with her modelling skills to create this stunning, intricately detailed ring that comes with 1 metal and 8 gem colors. Plus it modify, so you can achieve the perfect fit! How often do you find beautiful, high quality jewelry that is modify? There's a reason I'm in love with both Zibska and Charm. Once I was satisfied with my darker style, I headed over to Pandemonium with yet another custom pose.

Coastal Break

It's definitely been a while since I've last done a tropical themed shoot and post. FashionTropic is right around the corner, so what better time to get back into it than now? FashionTropic by iNOVARE is a tropical themed fashion art event taking place from July 7th to July 30th. I know this post is a bit early, but I really couldn't resist myself since I was feeling completely inspired. Meva will have these stylish bamboo sunglasses out for the event. They are unrigged, modifiable mesh with HUD driven texture control. There are 6 colors for the lenses, 7 colors for the frames and legs, and 5 colors for the metal accents; so there's plenty of combinations achievable. Byrne has out this breezey outfit perfect for looking good on the beach. It is a no modify, rigged mesh outfit that comes in two colors and includes a top, a skirt, and a scarf all in standard sizing. For the shoot I chose to go to one of my favorite tropical beaches just around sunset. Ahhh... I love the beach!

I'm not entirely sure what inspired this outfit, but when I saw what this makeup form Nuuna paired with this beautiful jewelry that Zibska has out for May's round of We <3 Roleplay, the pieces just started falling together. I had to go with something a bit more dark oriented, but I think it gives a bit of an undead vibe. Plus I absolutely love this dress from Peqe, I'm obsessed with it right now. Though I did have some trouble making up my mind on what shoes I wanted to wear with it, but these boots from Razor really called to me.

For The Love of Icarus

Fly not close to the sun, lest we fall.

After a very long, stressful, and incredibly busy week I was able to finally sit down and relax. These gorgeous crystallized wings from Aii absolutely floored me the moment I laid my eyes on them. They are actually animated, having a gentle floating bob and accenting particles that give them a true magical feel. They come in five colors (Dark, Fire, Ice, Water, & Winter), and are unrigged, modifiable mesh. I couldn't help but want to take to the skies and fly, just finding the right things to achieve the effect I was going for was a fun little challenge.

I started off at Argrace with their lovely windblown hair, I already owned it in black, so I figured white would be fun to play with. Next, while spoiling one of my best friends to put a smile on her face, I came across a blindfold from Boom. I felt compelled to get the white one. From there I thought, let's play with some whites and greys and just see what happens. I ended up with the look you see here, but I wasn't quite satisfied because the scarves were blown in the other direction-- Thank you Lelutka for making them modify! Since they're sculpted, I was able to manually mirror them and achieve the look I desired. From there, I played and flew around.

Today has had me dancing and grooving all day, so when Zibska unveiled this rockin' new outfit, makeup, and lashes, I couldn't resist (it seems I'm not the only one in a disco kick). Personally, I noticed a lot of people are apprehensive to use the color green, but I'm not scared of it, in fact I love it! So of course I opted for the bright, gorgeous green color of these fashionable and chic pants. Both the top and pants are HUD driven with 9 color options that flow perfectly together. Zibska is also releasing a bunch of new and beautiful makeups for Skin Fair 2015, each coming in a variety of colors to go with any outfit. I picked out my favorite and decided to pair it with her feathery Flashes Lashes, which come in bottom, top, and full options, all HUD driven with 14 color options. I wore this makeup and lashes with another tone of the beautiful bare Justine skin from JOLI. To finish off the outfit I accessorized with some bright beads, silver metal, and voluminous hair. So come on, let's go back to 1977 and dance the night away, it's a guaranteed way to make you smile. I know I am!

Personally I haven't had a lot of time to shop since I've been working on a release with Blue Falcon Industries for the beginning of my newest artistic outlet. However, today I finally got to shop around. Most anyone knows of the beautifully written poem by Edgar Allen Poe, for it truly is a masterpiece of its time. Those not unlike myself adore it and it sometimes is a fantastic influence. Now this post came to be after I had gone shopping at Black Arts and came across this lovely gown, named appropriately I say. I had put it off since I wasn't so sure on what I could add without taking from the look, but coming across the feather boa and feathery accents from Conquest, it was too perfect. The creator behind Conquest had actually heard me talking about burlesque fans and created these gorgeous custom fans for me in the same styling of his beautiful feather accessories. All of which, are quality, efficient mesh, no alpha texture clipping, tintable, and material enabled.
I can say I'm definitely having too much fun playing with them!

Serenade For The Damned

She sings with a voice like velvet to soothe the souls of the lost ones.

Inspiration for this shot came from that of the sexy and sultry demeanor of Hollywood starlets, like Marilyn Monroe for example. Being myself, I absolutely had to take it a step further and draw from the beautiful darkness of the lost and damned. It all came together when I put this JOLI skin on, and it simply called out to me to sing. So luscious curls courtesy of LeLutka, a beautiful black dress from Purple Moon, and Black Lace gloves brought her to life. I couldn't for the life of me find a pose I liked though,

SoOoOooo I wanted to go for a more aged kind of look here. Of course I went with mostly black and grey with accents of different hues of red. Victim Of Changes

Life brings forth many changes. Some changes are good, some changes are bad. In this case, the aching of a broken heart... or more severely, a heart torn asunder.
This look was heavily inspired by all things dark. I wanted to go for something Gothic but more in the fetish area. It's similar to an older outfit, but I figured a recycle using red would accent this gnarly exposed heart from Lost Haven. It's harder to come by nowadays, but I am sure it's still on lurking around on the marketplace. Mwuahahahah~!!! Just my luck though, I couldn't find a pose I liked for my ideal post spot, so I ended up making one. I won't sell the pose, but more than likely set it out as a freebie at the .Presence. main store. It's a little hard to see, but my platforms actually aren't pristine and shiny. They're Ye Olde Noir, with scratches, scrapes and dust, which are amazing details in my book.

But now for the fun stuff! Cute Poison has some new piercings that are absolutely killer. Animus had three different versions, of which I am wearing version 2. They come in three metal colors, are unrigged mesh, and fully modifiable so you can fit them flawlessly to your shape. If I could sport these in the first life, believe me I would. But if glaring eyes, hard core piercings, moody shade, ink, and a straight up exposed heart aren't enough to express what you're going for, Cute Poison also has tag necklace. With 21 different words to accurately describe nearly any look, it's a must-have necklace. You can clearly see what I was going for! (Cue the evil cackle.) This necklace is also unrigged mesh and fully modifiable for the perfect fit.

She's been up to all sorts of naughty things, leaving her with a stocking full of coal. She doesn't mind though, because she has a different kind of goodie in her sights! She did totally want that new toy piano though...

Love, The Hardest Way

 

"There always comes a time in life that one feels weak, and it's a matter of keeping strong or falling weak. When they fall weak, they let everything overcome them. It takes a special kind of person and a true friend, that despite the person having hurt them, to show them what they were doing. To tell them off, to make them realize what they were doing, to set them straight with a sternness, and to have the right amount of force to pull them away from such a destructive path. If you ever feel weak, don't let yourself succumb to it-- you'll either have someone dear save you, or when someone does notice, it'll be too late."

For this post, it's definitely a little more personal. People who know me in the RL will notice that I have captured a few of my RL characteristics in my avatar for this picture. I definitely went for a more relaxed, casual look. A cozy cardigan, my favorite black tank-top, a pair of comfy skinny jeans, and my favorite (but tattered) sneakers. For this one, I got my hand on some cuteness items from Atooly-- an absolutely adorable polka-dotty headband and a mug that really caught my attention. I'm a huge nerd, and when it comes to graphing and equations, I can keep at it for hours! You can actually get the mug at the Geeks'n'Nerds Fair, which of all fairs thus far, has to be my favorite. <3

Still Waters

The waters remain still, but within do they run so deep. All color fades as the waters over-take, and she reaches out. To take her hand are you strong enough to pull her from the choking tourniquet depths, or will you too, be pulled in?
This one was another piece based on emotion. It comes from a strong mix, between the heavy mourning I'm in and the stresses that have been being flung at me in the real world. There's been a huge feeling of being stuck, being pulled in and something trying to drown me like a moth in water. But in reaching out, someone has taken my hand and has been pulling me out of it. Anyways, I played a lot with photoshop techniques and I hope you like it. This was overall fun to make and really helped relieve a lot of stress in the process.
