Taste My Rainbow

I can't believe it has already been a year! Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way! Thank you for my random readers new and old! I have come a really long way, in soo many ways, since I started this adventure. So for this post I felt it would only be appropriate to include some of the people that helped me get to where I did. Skyler the awesome fun-sized friend that helps me style and take pics. And to fill in, where Kaylith was intended to be, is my friend Boo who is awesome and took on the rainbow vomit challenge to help me get the effect I wanted, since Kaylith computer is exploded until the Lemonade event kicks off and she can get some funds to get a new one! So lets show off the sexy rainbow vomit that is a total explanation of all that The Rainbow Fashionista stands for.

To put this simply and break it down Skyler = Cute Kawaii Goodness, Dragon = Casual with Attitude, and Boo = Edgy and Fearless. We show off three of the more prominent sides of me that I show on the blog. I may not always be colorful on the blog but The Rainbow Fashionista stands for so much more than color. It stands for all the different sides and all the variety that can be brought to the table by my fashion choices while I romp around SL with my friends as we show off our creativity. Anyways enough of my rambles for now. Thank you for reading my blog up to this point and I hope you continue to follow my random silly blogger self as I continue to show off all my colorful facets in that fun cyberspace we all call home in SL.

Glutton for Fashion

So I will keep this kinda short and sweet for my rambles because the credits alone are a long as a couponer's receipt! Where The Wild Things Are

So I was actually really inspired when I stopped by The Boutique. I had seen the necklaces that Half-Deer came out with and thought they were adorable but wasn't sure what to wear them with until I dropped by the event, then all of the things called to me! And, yes I do mean all of them. So I assembled my wardrobe and headed into the wild!

Along with the cheetah print dress I found (I swear it is leopard but I keep getting told I'm wrong) I found GIRAFFES and TIGERS! Yes I got excited when I went out exploring for this photo. Thanks to all the awesome Gazelle pieces I found I had to pull out my hoofs from Epic again just to be all sweet and deer like. But the kitty in me overruled and I had to be fierce.

But yes all the Gazelle pieces especially these awesome ear/horns From O.M.E.N and the necklace form Half-Deer and just go buy all the things trust me you want to!

Fruit Ninja

Because it is summer and I got that random urge to eat something I don't really even like that much this week... Yes, I live in the south it is a sin but I actually don't really care for Watermelon! And thus besides eating it, and then burping it back up for the next 3 hours (For the record it really doesn't taste good the second time). I also created a look based off of the adorkable items Kre-ations has brought out that are watermelon themed and running with it. Thus a Fruit Ninja!

And a Fruit Ninja just seems to fit into a jungle. Thus I used my awesome ninja skills to stand still long enough for the jungle animals to come out and play! But now I have revealed my ninja identity and must change my appearance and go back into hiding.

Second Hand Faith

So this post is about a couple things, the pretty outfit I made AND my partner in crime.
First lets talk about Kaylith. My best friend, my other half, my partner in crime, Kaylith Zeurra has been really down on her luck lately. Her life is giving her a metric shit tonne of lemons, and I would love, with the help of amazing people like you, to help turn her lemons into lemonade.

The most recent lemon, the one we can all help to fix is the loss of her computer, her lifeline to help cope with all of her lemons. We are planning a fair type fundraiser on the sim a friend of mine owns and has agreed to let me use for this event. Designers would be able to set up items there to sell at a "Lemonade Stand". The event will start on the 5th of August and run through the 11th. The location will be set up and ready for designers to set up their items from the 1st - 4th of August. Each "Lemonade Stand" will have 15 prims 'attached' to it for the designer to use. The general theme of the fundraiser will be "When Life Gives You Lemons ... Make Lemonade," but items do not need to fit a specific theme. I do understand that this is a rather quick set up event and thus items do not need to be new or exclusive, we just ask that between 25% and 100% of one to five (or more) items would go towards the computer fund. We will provide a split revenue script that will be used to send whatever portion of the proceeds you choose to Kaylith. In the chance that excess funds are raised the excess would go towards other life lemons that Kaylith faces IRL.

Now I know many of you reading this aren't designers, and maybe even don't know many designers, but if you just come check out the event and maybe buy an item or 2 you find that you like it would really help. Okay now on to the pretty! I am so far behind with these epic unicorn parts Half-Deer made for The Arcade last month it isn't even funny! I love them all but these dark parts really called to me when I saw them after I finished squeeeing over all the rainbow variations. And Sn@tch is at it again with her older mesh releases calling to me I just can't stay away and every time I go in to shop I find something that I somehow missed seeing the last time I went shopping.

Cute Poison finally caved in and upgraded to making mesh piercings and I must say she started off rocking it with a bang! She already has at least 3 piercings out and that's just the first week of her having any mesh piercings released! And all of the color options are there included with the hud as well as the fact that they are mega easy to MOD. I am in LOVE!

Miss Kate

This week has been one like no other in soo many ways. My last post got me to over 6,000 views and I noticed that this next post would be post #100 so I started planning something really awesome, then Wednesday (the 3rd) happened. Kate, my first best friend ever, the first friend I made when we moved to Georgia at the age of 5, the girl I have dubbed my Forever Friend, was slipping away. We have known this was going to happen, she wasn't suppose to live past age 10, yet she made it to age 22. Yes, this is just a trail of incomplete thoughts and I apologize for it, but again it has been a week. Okay back to a semblance of track... Doctors told us Wednesday (the 3rd) she probably wouldn't make it through the night and almost for sure not the weekend. She kept fighting though until Tuesday morning. So needless to say it has been a long emotionally draining week for me and thus my brain was not in the blogging mode until Tuesday afternoon when I had started to thaw out my emotions and let my strong face fade. Thus this look, built from mourning and remembrance. My 100th post is dedicated to her. I miss you Kate!

Yes I decided to go with the traditional black of mourning, however I spruced it up with some pink, which was one of Kate's favorite colors. The bows especially bring out more meaning, because for the service my sister as well as the other nanny that helped take care of Kate for the past few years made a ton of pink bows with her initials on it to hand out. Anyways I leave y'all with this before I go to bed and get ready for the funeral in the morning. She is in a better place free form pain and lounging with her Mom and her first service dog. I am happy for her, she didn't need or deserve the confines of her earthly body. She was always smiling, and could make me smile no matter how bad my day had been. I will miss her dearly, but now I have one more guardian angel looking out for me.

Simply Stated

So this post was kinda suppose to happen like a month ago back when Truth was doing the model search, but alas I got distracted and I never got a chance to take the picture and missed the model search. But hey why let a good look go to waste right? So instead I updated it some with one of the new eyeliners from Cosmetic Fair and added the new nail from Atooly for the Slink hands/nails (Yes, you can get just the nails so you don't have to mess with tone matching on hands. I didn't know this until recently and thought I would share the great news!)

I am really proud of this picture too! I don't know how I did it but I managed to make this look almost like a shot Kaylith took instead of the normal less awesome ones that are what I can take on my computer most days.

Gotta Catch 'Em All

Well this is my RL Birthday blog post! It comes complete with a Pokemon theme thanks to my BF who got me Leaf Green and Ruby Pokemon for my birthday because I need to catch up on all the Pokemon I missed when all my family thought I was "too old" for that. Song of Fire and Ice

So time for something completely different! Yeah this is a stretch for me but I think I've done it... Dreads AND a BLACK SKIN! *gasps all around* I know I've somehow pulled a look with a black skin out on occasion before but it really is hard for me. Though, when I saw the new hair from The Stringer Mausoleum this look literately fell in my lap. You can ask Kaylith I yelled "I call dibs on Metalhead!" as soon as I put on the copy that Helena was nice enough to hand me. Anyways lets show off the look.

And I have to say these mesh lashes I found might be my new favs. I had a hard time deciding on a color and I'm pretty sure I am going back for more before The Kollection is over. Also someone tell Kaylith to get he ass online so I can hand her the Male version of this necklace so we have a matching set. It is available at My Attic for only 95L$ and totally worth it since it comes with both the male and female versions no copy but trans so you can give the other half to your partner in crime! Not gonna forget Razorblade Jacket which once again takes my breath away with this sexy outfit! At first i was hesitant because of the mesh but after trying the demos I knew it would fit like a glove. This just reaffirms to me the great quality that they bring to the table. And before I go I have to show you what SL likes to do to me when I'm in a hurry to take pictures. This is why the post is 2 days later than planed because SL wasted all my time making me fix this.

In the end I was glad that this skin comes with 3 boob options because wearing a different option is the only way I ever got the skin to reappear. I better go back and try and make that skin reappear...

Monotone Sea Shanty

Today I took a trip to the beach, and you know what I found? Awesome stuff from Malfean Visions, that's what! Everyone that knows me, knows I love comfy and cool clothing for warm summer mornings. So what's better than taking your favorite collared shit, unbuttoning it, then tying it up sexily? Wearing the matching, airy capris. What's even better? Nothing is over the amount of an upload, except the combo pack that comes with a matching bikini, of course. Personally, I like the Antique color of the set, but hey, there's five other colors you might just love.

So after I chose what my favorite set was while I was there, I dropped by Truth to see what was new. O. M. G! Truth's new hair by the name Storm read Kaylith all over it-- so naturally I got it immediately. I really loved it in white, so I grabbed my favorite white browed skin form cStar. Last I grabbed my favorite choker from HoD and set out to take a picture. Mid-way through the shoot I didn't like the eyes I was wearing, but then I realized The Sugar Garden had a special VIP gift out for their gorup members. The eyes are dark, glossy and alluring; they are also appropriately named Dark Skies. Totally awesome! Enough rambling though.

Devil Made Me Do It

So this look has been in the works since Sn@tch released this dress for Woeful Wednesday about a month ago. Twas about the same time that Zombie Suicide first brought out her new epicly awesome Fleshy Horns as well. Anywho I finally brought it to life with the full extent of it's awesomeness now that cStar has come out with her TAO Geisha Collection and I finally had a skin that I felt fit the bill.

 I love how this look came out and the Wrath eyes that Zombie Suicide put out for Perfect Wardrobe just helped nail it down better than I had hoped. Enough of my rambles so you can get back to hanging out with your Father/Dad/Father Figure/Mom Who Pulls Double Duty/Family.

Missed The Mark

Yes RL has distracted me but so has the newest (okay second newest since Thrift Shop Started while I was busy collecting all the skins) release from cStar. You want to know what this release is that has me all tied up? Well it is the second set in cStar's The Art Of... collections. This time around it is The Art of Neo Geisha and well I am blow away with these 100 skins. I will just start by showing you the teaser we all got. Not only did Jasmine outdo herself with these skins but Sabbian out did himself with the photography for the ads and all the models look stellar!

And front and center is my inspiration for this post. I saw that purple smokey make-up and said "I don't know yet what I can/will do with that, but I will do SOMETHING." Sure enough right before the skin launched, MV dropped a sexy number in my lap that just happened to be exactly what I needed for it to all click into place.

Don't ask me what is is that makes me feel the need to be edgy this week but I feel razor sharp between MV and cStar. Maybe the concert I went to has something to do with it. Yes that is one of those things I let take me away form the blog, but it is more fun to go to an Ayria concert than to stay inside all cooped up slaving away at the keys styling and photoshopping.

Half Feline

I know I am getting bad about blogging but I keep coming up with half finished looks that need a bit of this and that and some of them have stuff that I got previews for that isn't released yet so they have to wait until I can get my hands on the items. So it finally settled in that the most recent season of RuPaul's Drag Race is over and with the hawt necklaces out from Olive I decided that I needed to show it off to try and drag out the season a bit longer in my heart. Of course then as I was styling my friend comments I look like a drag queen... not sure I agree with her but I felt like a Barbie.

All I know is that the bandanna tops from Cute Poison totally rock and once again Half-Deer has captured my attention with a set of her antlers. And even with Truth updating his hair packs I still love my old fades color packs almost as much as I love his new black and white packs, so I had to show off the old Barbie color at least one more time.

The Creationist

So the World Goth Fair opened up this week and I happened to badger Lokii until she finished her items and showed them too me and I have to say it was almost instant LOVE. Yes RL got in the way and while I had this all done and styled up the night before the fair opened, RL work decided that it wanted all of my attention. So I bring you just a taste of the sexy goth goodies exclusively at this great event.

Maybe I shoudl ramble some about what I'm wearing too... So the outfit collar and boots are all part of one of the outfits MV has brought to the fair, and I have to say Lokii is slowly bringing back an obsession with purple, because she has just the right shade to make me want to hump all her purple stuff. I haven't felt the need to do that since +DV8+. Anywho I paired the outfit with one of the sexy horns that +Half-Deer+ has to offer and I must say grab these horns now while you can because I know I will use them again and probably not till after the goth fair is over but there are enough colors and patterns that there are many of different uses for them and this is just one of them. Other little pieces like the slightly color altered (they were purple but they wern't quite the right shade and they were mod so I tweaked them closer) cross rings from Cute Poison and one of the necklaces that Noodles brought to us in the first The Arcade event make this outfit come to life while paired with one of the sexy TAO Goth skins that cStar brought out at the beginning of the year.

Because MV makes me get a hard on for her latex especially her newest release the Widowed Collar I decided to team up with my fellow latex flunky Skyler and do a post abusing the wonderful MV latex.

I am not normally a fan of cStar's Heavenly tone for whatever silly reason, but after finding this gem at the sale I really think I was just being silly. Totally rock-able and totally sexy I mean look at that pout! I also found these killer cyber headphone/shades and an adorable shoulder pet that keeps blowing kisses to all my girlfriends... I wonder if I should be worried...

Kitty Love

So the whole reason this post even came about is someone handing me a notecard about the sale at la petite morte that is so that she can pay for her kitty's vet bill. The notecard brought tears to my eyes and well I went right over and bought the items and decided that I would spread the word to try and help the poor kitty! Please even if you don't like what she has out open your heart and if you have some lindens to spare send them her way to help the kitty!

Yay for the kitty face tattoo that made me want to neko out mildly leading to spots EVERYWHERE! Lucky for me some of my favorite stores have spot stuff out in various places that makes it easy on me.  We will start with the pretty side eye tattoos from cStar that are now only available on the marketplace but totally worth going after. And they come in soo many colors it isn't even funny! Seriously go look at them! Then we have the New collars form Zombie Suicide soo many options and I had to pick just one! Then we have the sexy corset and matching boots from MV that came out awhile back for her cart sale and I think are still lurking around the store somewhere. If they aren't you should totally harass Lokii until she puts them back out because I mean come on look at this epic detail and sexyness. And as always Sn@tch is reliable and has everything a girl could ever need including sexy leopard pants! But back to the point of this post PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP THE POOR KITTY! Flower Child

So this is a blog post about pretty flowery stuff. I think there was a train of thought but the voices in my head have totally taken over...

So let's see if I can find any of my train of thought again... Olive came out with these awesome pose props to celebrate spring and gardens for Bees Through the Seasons. Momento Mori

     I have to say Kamelot is probably one of my favorites bands ever, especially their albums Epica and The Black Halo. I had been listening to them the other day when a particular song titled Momento Mori really made me feel something powerful, especially the following lyrics:

"Who wants to separate,
The world we know from our beliefs,
And who sees only black and white,
Distinguish loss from sacrifice,
Some day we may come to peace,
With the world within ourselves,
And I will await you,
Until I close my eyes... close my eyes... close my eyes..."

     So with that playing in my mind over and over again, I set out to create a look based on how the song made me feel.

     Of course things went quite Gothic as you can tell, but that happens with me quite a bit. So I went with something pretty with my own flair to it. It just so happened I was in love with a new acquired, but older, cStar skin. I was wearing her around the Fantasy Fair went I happened to find a dress that called my name and I absolutely just HAD to have! My problem was I had no idea what shoes to wear with it though; that is when my friend Lindsey Warwick popped in and told me about some new platform boots she made! With the name being Crushers<3 I was interested. So I popped over to her store and fell in love! She has numerous colors, including discounted flame print ones specific to her in-world location. I grabbed as many as I could hold! It was to my surprise though that her HUD is very simple and easy to use. Not to mention color packs can be mixed and matched. I was so epic jazzed about it!

     After I had found the PERFECT boots to go with this look, I found a pretty flower head piece and a monotone clutch in my inventory that were begging to be used. I originally had a blonde hair with this look too, but something about it didn't seem quite right, so I didn't blog the look right away. I did however go to the Truth Hair sale with one of my closest friends, Jasmine. With her knowledge, she knew that there was a ponytail waiting there for me that I would absolutely love. I wasn't quite sure on it at first, but after buying it and trying it on in Pearl, she was so friggin' right! <3 My look was complete!

     Lastly, I headed over to a certain monotonous dark carnival out on the grid with one of my favorite Apple Spice poses. Pictures were taken and I was very happy with the results! <3
